Photobucket situation, your pictures and thread editing

Our RC friends,

We are aware of the unfortunate situation that has come about with Photobucket changing their business model requiring $399 a year to link your uploaded pictures to 3rd party sites. If you are not aware, here you go:

http://support.photobucket.com/hc/en...n-Pricing-Info

What we believe we've read is that your pictures are not gone from your accounts, Photobucket still has them and you can still download them, they are just blocking you from linking/embedding them here (or anywhere else). This is unfortunate because so many valuable threads here have now lost the great pictures in them.

While we cannot fix the Photobucket situation, for those who want to find another service and edit their photo links, we want to give you the ability to do that.

As a matter of board policy (developed over the years for multiple reasons), members currently have a limited amount of time to edit their threads after they are posted. As a service to our members, we will modify this policy to allow all members with at least 50 posts and 90 days of membership to correct their picture links. We are going to open this up on Tuesday July 18th.

We plan on leaving this modified policy in place for 30 days or so to give everyone enough time. We will also be closely monitoring things for anyone that is taking advantage of the situation or any unforeseen outcomes. If something goes awry, we will revert to our original policy.

*This is an announcement post, you can't reply to it, if you have questions, post in the Feedback & Questions forum...and try not to create 50 threads about the same thing please "

Reef club events **PLEASE READ**

In the continuing effort to curb forum spam while at the same time supporting the local clubs the staff of Reef Central asks that advertising club events remain limited to the forum of the club holding the event. Additional advertising is provided in the announcement forum and in Reef Keeping magazine. Neighboring clubs who wish to support each other’s events can do so by having a club officer post the neighbors’ event in their forum. This will prevent conflict between club events and help reduce the possibility of abuse while allowing each club the privilege of advertising in the forums provided through the web site. We realize the importance of club events and the need to advertise them but at the same we all must respect the boundaries of our neighbors, as the events they are holding are just as important to them as yours is to you.

There's a lady I've known forever. She's taken ill as of late.
On top of that, she's being abused by those to whom she has given everything... Lies about her abound, and seem to come from all sides. Just breaks my heart. Maybe, if we join together, we can help her heal.
She's well over 230 years old, but way too young to die. Her name is 'America'... And I love her and I have always been proud of her.

Current Tank Info: 220 gal reef with 200+ gals of sump and refugium.
