Thats a Pacu, I had one of them in the 175 upstairs before I went reef
Started out the size of a quarter LOL When I finally got rid of him only 3/4 of his body would fit in a 5 gallon bucket!!!!

I had one and my Softshelled turtle bit his stomach open and the pacus guts were hanging out for 3 days so I had to kill it with dry ice.
It was so big I had to bury it in the back yard.

Mine was named hotdog, because thats what I fed him.
He also ate bulk carnivore pellets for fattening up trout and game fish.

Sometime if you are at Andys ask him about the guy who was fishing down in the meramac. Old black guy on a cane pole brought up a Pacu that was about 15 lbs or more. Guy had no idea what it was this was late summer early fall. Figured the fish had been in the river all summer maybe 6 months. They grow fast. Guy just wanted to know if he could eat it LOL

That is pretty funny! I caught a pretty big oscar in Florida a few years back. The couple we were fishing with said it was a real problem with the native fish. It happened when a fish hatchery got flooded.
