View Full Version : Cleaning inside of glass?
Does anyone use razors to clesan the inside of the tank? I have some stubborn algae I can't get off and the magnet cleaner just wont get it off. Is a razor safe? I use it for my freshwater tank but I'm not sure if it is safe. Thanks

i use razors...recommended by lfs,
they do rust after one or 2 uses so change regularly. i presume this is for a GLASS tank.
cant beat em though

There are metal scrapers you can buy at your lfs that do the job for me. check out this link:

I use razors all the time. I just rinse them and dry well and they last quite awhile.

I just bought a 100 pack of razor blades at Harbor Freight for $2. I use a new one each time. I also put it in one of those little plastic holders from Home Depot that are in the paint dept for about a buck so they are easier to hold on to.
LOL, that's where I got mine. :D I'm always going to get holder, but haven't managed to so far.
Thanks. I'll be using one on my tank soon.

what the heck do you need a razor for... I find an old credit card (or gift card) works fine.
