Hi
In the next months I will be setting up a 2000 gallon custom made Deltec aquarium and I need a controller to match ;)
I've been looking at around 15 different controllers and my head is starting to hurt. The Elos controller looks so much better then the rest but there is one thing that I need the controller to do and that is feed information to a webpage that will be built about the tank. We would like to have live information from the tank.
I've seen some discussions about a webserver module or something like that but Im not sure about the status of that.
If it's possible to feed info to a webpage I will definetly buy the BioTopusII with all the extras :)
Could you shed some light on that ?

A webserver is not offered but will be in the future. At the end of this year we finished testing and we are now beginning production on the Aqua Rescue which was scheduled to be worked on before we started on the webserver option. Now that the Aqua Rescue is complete we will begin with the webserver option. Sorry I do not have more information on this but I will let you know as information becomes available. Let me know if you have any other questions and the aquarium sounds very nice, already:)

Hey Jesse
The tank is now being built and Im still thinking about getting a Elos to monitor the beast :)
Elos say the BioTopus open source and I was wondering what program language is used.
We are as I said before going to have a detailed webpage about the tank and project I was hoping we could fetch info we need from the BioTopus to manipulate for the webpage. We would like to have live info as well as some charts for some of the readings. Don't think we need a webserver module if we can some how get readings from the BioTopus to a PC and then write some code our selves for the webpage.
Hope you understand where Im going and that you can clarify on those matters ;)

Sorry Arnar our controller does not work on small tanks under 2000 gallons:) Ok that was a joke. I looked at your thread very cool tank you are working on. I forwarded this post to Italy and I am waiting for a response on this because I honestly do not know. Just so happens that I had another customer working on a pretty cool project with the B2 ask this question so I am interested as well. When they get back to me I will let you know. I assume you are more interested in the software for the computer and not for the controller, is that correct? On a relatede topic, the B2 does have a pc logging feature that would probably be helpful to you for your live data and the bluetooth capability would likely save you from having a cord to a computer. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks a lot for that Jesse
That logging feature sounds like that it might be what I need. It would be great to get more info on the programming and how Elos sees 3rd party programmers using their product for open source if it was on B2 side, PC side or both. I think this project could be a good example for the possibilities of B2.
I just want to be 100% sure if B2 will fulfill all our needs for data logging and display. I think I'm already about 90% sure :D
I'm excited to hear what Elos, Italy says about my plans ;)
Another thing... Let's say everything works like I think it will, where should I purchase from ? Not sure since I'm situated in europe, Iceland.

I also have a B2 and am extremely satisfied with my purchase. My wife thinks it looks pretty too, spousal support is of utmost importance in this hobby. :) At some point this year I'd like to get it online also, I have the SMS ordered but I still think it would be kinda cool to see it online at my business. Maybe even a webcam! :)

The open source part of the B2 is the pc software that is given to B2 owners and the language is visual basic 6.

Thanks a lot for that Jesse.
I'll keep you posted on my progress with the tank. We will most likely buy the B2 system and hopefully tweak it towards our needs :)
