We need skimmer for a 90 Gallon Reef, moderate stocking and for a 210 Gallon FOWLR medium stocking with larger fish.

No sump on either tank so these have to either HOB or In Tank or if you have other ideas?

thanks

was thinking of either:

Aqua C Remora Pro Hang-On Protein Skimmer
http://www.jlaquatics.com/phpstore/s...t_ID=ps-acremp

or

Deltec MCE-300 Protein Skimmer
http://www.jlaquatics.com/phpstore/s...ct_ID=DD-P0300

opinions, any experience with these, likes, dislikes?

many thanks!

Your links do not work.

I honestly do not think that either of these will adequately clean those systems.

Will it skim? Yes, but they will constantly skim trying to keep up. In actuality, it will never keep up.

Is there any way that a sump can be implemented?

Install a sump and you have a lot more choices of good skimmers.

The Deltec MCE300 should be fine for a 90g system, I would think. The manufacturer rates it for 90g. The MCE600 is also available. You might want two of the on the larger tank, although you could try it with one.

A sump would be nice, though.

Thanks for the feedback and welcome, looks like there are a lot of sump lovers here lol

What about those in-line Deltecs that don't need to sit in the sump?

thx

The MCE600 will certainly work for your 90g tank, but there's really nothing available for the 210g that is non-sump.

I would take a look into the Tunze DOC skimmers.

All the Deltec skimmers are supposed to work alongside a tank, according to their brochure, so I guess you could try the AP 850 or bigger. You could ask in their forum for more help.

Only if the skimmer is draining down to the display. Never seen a skimmer posted on a shelf above a display before, but there always is a first.
