In the Aquatronica PC software what do you have the Communication port set to? Look under "Setting"
Automatic works for some but others have to specify the port.

on both comps i tried it both ways, auto and specifying. When i specify it says connection error instantly. This is on all 3 of my computers.

Hi rawbomb,
if you could not connect also via seral with the automatic port selection or identifying the port I think the unit can be broken... please check the USB cable between the ACQ220 and the Power Unit to be sure it's well connected and the cable is good....

rawbomb, please send an e-mail to
[email protected] reporting the problem and the test you made, i think they will replace the unit.
Bye
I succesfully tested 3 different usb 2 rs-232 adapters,2 of them are usb 1.1 and one is usb 2.0 compliance. You just need to check in control panel/system/device manager if the serial port is succefully added, and then manually select this port number in aquatronica sw.

i belive the issue is with my module. It is not even connecting on computers with built in serial ports. I have sent AQ an e-mail but havent gotten a response yet.

I have installed my cable correctly and when i plug it into the comp windows tells me its all installed right. But when i look in device manager, it doesnt come up?
Unfortunatly the cd that came with the pc module was blank, and had nothing on it :mad2: so am waiting for a new one
Any ideas?

Hi james3200,
the pc module is not shown in the menu and it doesn't need power. Can you please check the cables and to have the RS232 to USB converter working in windows?
Then check the configuration set to AUTO in the Aquatronica program. If with the AUTO configuration it doesn't work please set manually the Com port.
Let me know.
Bye

Hi Gilberto,
I have checked over the usb cable from the power bar to the serial adaptor and it all seems to be in correctly.
The RS232 to USB seems to be installed correctly, it is shown in my device manager under ports and doesnt have any issues.
Also when it is all connected up, the RS232 to the pc module, the light on the RS232 flickers, when its not connected, the light is off
I also tried to put the communication port on auto and on the port its under COM12, but i still get please check connection
What do you think?
Thanks,
James

I spoke to them yesterday and in the end i was asked to try it on a computer iwth a serial port and not using the usb adaptor. Luckily i had an old pc which was not gbeing used with a serial port, and as soon as i plugged it in it worked..
So it seems like that with a Sony vaio and some other brands the port adaptor does not really work (as the technition said)
Now if i can get my ethernet module working.......(firmware issue)
