I recently purchased a used 60 gallon clear for life cube that was two 1" holes drilled in the back. For the time being I want to plug these holes. What is the best way to plug these holes?

I went to a local Home Depot to look at PVC piping parts and couldn't find anything.

I prefer to have these pieces in black.

Thanks in advance.

James

[welcome]

I'd buy a bulkhead and cap that. Here's one product:

That bulkhead requires a 1 1/8" hole, but you might be able to find one that fits your tank.

Buy this bulkhead:

and go to HD or Lowes and get a threaded plug for it.

I second the bulk head. I think the only other way you could do it is to silicon a small square of glass over the hole (inside of tank), but this more perminent and not too pretty.

I third the bulkhead this way its there if you need it as you expand.

instead of capping it though i'd put a ball valve on it first and then cap it after the ball ball valve that way you won't have to drain the tank when you want to expand.

you could place inside, a piece of acrylic larger then the hole and glue them. depends on how/if you plan to use them, good luck and have a safe and Happy New Year!
