Well went out tonight to get this Longnose butterfly but they had sold it.
So I really wanted this guy as well so I went with him.
I gave him a frozen krill and he went nuts on it..He is def a cool fish.
I was worried about this guy with the Gorilla crab i got. As soon as I put him in the crab tried to start a fight. I have had it with that crab so its in a bucket. I will try and keep it alive for my octo tank when i get my octo in about 2-3weeks if the crab dies i dont care at this point.
Well here is Eragon

thats ok...I dont mind
whatever suits his need better. He is only in this temp though. Once the bigger tank I am doing is setup then him and all the other fish are moving in there and the octo will be in this tank.

i thought I lost him just now...I looked ALL over outside tank in filters and all. I even plugged up the holes in the back cause I read they jump. I thought he vanished....then i see that he was burried in the sand and couldnt see him.

I like the way the look when they mature. They're quite aggressive though, so choose tankmates accordingly. I like your star BTW, Oreaster Reticulatus?

I dont know the latin names..It was a green Bahama star.
I really wanna get some Percula/ocellaris clown.
It was between a pair of them lastnight and this guy.
I still want a clown though. Would I be ok with them and this wrasse

I would think he would bully anything smaller/less boisterous than himself. Maybe he'll be O.K with Maroons, but I think he would kill Percs/Ocellaris Clowns.

Well i got a tank raised Percula today. it is a good sized one..not to much smaller then the wrasse..he doesnt seem to bother it really..he swam at it a few times but the clown also chased after him a few times as well.

i have one the same size, mine doesnt have that cool looking red coloring on his hair tho. coolest fish i have to say, just the way they hover around over your rocks is fun to watch. only thing i have to say is that these guys kick up sand and move little bits of rubble endlessly.
i will be watching my tank and all of a sudden a giant plume of detritus will fill the tank coming from behind my live rock, its just him digging for critters i suppose. funny personality as well, he says the hell with my light schedule and goes to bed about 2 hours before lights out at EXACTLY the same time every night.

yea mine is the same way..he wants to know whats going on to...when i go to the tank he comes to the glass and wants to look at me to. They are good at the bedtime stuff...soon as lights out..he is in the sand going to sleep.

is that where they sleep? when he dissapears at night i have no idea where he goes in my rockwork. Do you think that he's sleeping in the sand?

yea when i turn out the light..after a min or 2 I can watch him go under the sand..its funny to cause it takes him less then a sec to go under.
I think they sleep under it...sometimes I see him sleeping half burried.
Other morning I thought he was dead..was on his side body arched..I tapped the glass and he went under the sand faster then I could even realize

They are hands down my favorite non reef safe wrasse. When I can afford more than one big tank I will have one of those in my fowlr.
