How long can it take to clear the water after putting in sand?

How long should it take to clear the water after putting sand in a new 55 gallon tank with a large biowheel filter every tank i setup in the past has cleared over night this one did not but i bought the sand off the big auction site and its very fine and almost like clay a little.

Can you please give me some options on this or manybe ways to help fix it?

I wondering if i got taken when i bought the sand how would you tell?

Just relax and give it a while. Mine took almost three days with aragonite sand.

Give it time, and ditch the bio-wheel.

Go to the LFS or Walmart and buy some polyfill and put it in the filter. It will take up the sand that is suspended in the water colum. Make sure you unplug the filter before you remove the polyfil, also use RO water to rinse the sand out of the filter before you run it in the tank again otherwise it will blow that sand back out in the tank again. You may have to do this three to four times but it will clear it up fast.
