I have kept a 90G for a year and a half, and it is a DSB so i never had to clean the sandbed.

I am starting a 10G nano with barebottom. I have a python faucet driven suction cleaner, but the opening is too big for a tank that small.

How do you vacuum a bb in tight spaces to keep it spotless? Does anyone know of a modification or addon the the python water vac for small head? thanks for any info.

aim a powerhead at the bottom and keep everything in suspension to the filtration gets it. Alternatively rubberband/ziptie a 1/2" airline tube to the end of a stick start a vaccum on it and use it like you'd use a dust buster.

i use airline tubing, suck on one end to start the siphon :p , put the other into a bucket. :D

pull the larger portion of the python off so its just the tubing. It comes on and off easily. I do that to clean my sump at times. this way you wont have to make an additional purchase.

Position powerheads to blow detritus to one area. Anything that is not in suspension and taken into the skimmer I use airline tubing and move that into the area to suck up the residual. For you like Pandurinii said just take off the end of the python. You get better suction power without it.
