Well a bit of sad news I had my lil guy jump out of the tank this morning (or last night) I found him on the floor this morning. He was only about 2 months old (hatched him from the egg) and eating like ....well a shark. I was just wondering if this is normal behavior for a banded shark to jump out of the tank or is it a fluke he did. There was only a couple spots for him to jump through and well i guess he found it. Poor lil guy he was doing great and very active in the tank.
On a different note I was thinking of a whitespotted shark for the tank before this guy jumped but before i could research if they would be ok in the same tank he jumped. Would 2 banded get along in tank its a 250 g. I may still buy the other one, it's a bit larger around 7-8 inches

we had one at the store jump like that, a few times. It was usually when we were about to feed and it would get very active and pop over the edge looking for food.
Last time it happened at night and we lost it though. but this tank had no edge up top.

Some sharks like these are night crawlers.. They crawl from one tidal pool to another to find food.. Because most sharks are most active at night..

Sorry for your loss. I learned the hard way as well. I had a white spotted bamboo in a tank for two+ years without incident - found him half way across the room one morning.
I highly recommend tops for all shark tanks.

Quick question for you shark guru's. Our shark egg just hatched early yesterday and we arewondering if there is anything inparticular to feed them at first. It is a coral banded i believe. He has swam into the rock work and has been hiding but im not sure how long till he will be hungry and wanting food. Any suggestions or secrets to get them to start eating? Any help would be appreciated.
