Anyone have the new reef devils and how good are they for a 180 tank?

awesome skimmer.
Iwish I still had one.they work great with a mag 7.
I switched to a needlewheel asm g-3 and wish I never did.the etss skimmers are way better.

The reef devil and the G-3 would be woefully inadequate for a moderately stocked 180. I have owned both. I had the reef devil on a lightly stocked 60 cube and the G-3 on a heavily stocked 100. My reef devil performed poorly and I suspect it was the mag7 pump. When I moved to a 280 I used a ETSS 800 with a pressure rated pump and it performed amazingly well. I personally would buy a g-4x for the 180 if it were my tank. The needle wheel skimmer is much easier to set and maintain and requires virtually no tweeking. The thumb screws on the reef devil are a PITA.

I have the Reef Devil which I recently upgraded the pump to a Mag 7 (came with the Catalina CA 1800 which broke after 6 months). Works great on my tank but for a 180 I would recommend the ETSS 800 if you stick with a skimmer from A. E. Technology Inc.
