Last night I was checking my tank since I added new fish and I saw a tentacle thingy. I thought it might of been a starfish leg so I quickly turned on the PC lights and it was an Octopus about 3 inches long. Where I got the LR from has alot of Octos and I saw one last night but he was big so they are out there. Ive heard they only live a year in captivity does anyone know how much they grow in captivity??

Full size and lifespan depend on species. There is a forum devoted to cephalopods: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?forumid=38

They are good at escaping so there need to be absolutely no gaps in the lid if you plan on keeping it.
