Alright, here it goes... I have a 75 rr, mostly sps, crocea clam, some lps and zoos, lots of different creatures. I use a 4 stage ro/di for top off and new saltwater(0 on tds meter). I have a sump with euro-reef rs80, and also have a 20 gallon long for a refugium, which I have attached an external overflow box to deliver into sump. I should have never assumed that I had phosphates, but bought a test today and tested at 1.0! I ran to the store and bought nylon mesh, and kent phosphate sponge. I tied into a little sack and dropped into the return side of my overflow box leading into sump. Will this be ok, lots of flow going through it as I use a mag 7 from sump to refugium(5ft head loss)? Any advice on using this product, or any other methods for controlling phosphate would be much appreciated.
