Where is the best place to place a mushroom in a reef tank? How do they stick? Do they prefer a certain water flow? I have a new 2" diameter True Blue Mushroom, and it doesnt look to relaxed and spred out. I have placed it at the bottom of my tank in a low flow area on a flat piece of live rock.

20gl Long tank.
JBJ lighting, I think actinic, there is a blue and a white?
13lbs live rock
powerhead at medium flow, for xenia (flow is directed at the xenia)
fliter, protein skimmer

How much light have you got on the tank? Mushrooms will live anywhere but mine prefer to be near the bottom with low to medium flow. As long as they're not in a dead spot you should be ok. How long have you had it? It took almost a week for mine to open all the way up.

I have 3 varieties of mushrooms in a tank with a 150w halide in the center - None of them look open and relaxed until they're at the darker ends of the tank and each has it's own preference. Try putting them under the shadow of a rock overhang.

The Corallimorpharians forum would be able to give you advice on that specific mushroom if nobody does here.
