What is the current status of Wave2k wavemakers ?
I see them still being sold - are people happy with new design ?

Anybody here uses these mechanical wave makers from www.wave2k.com?

I would gladly read some user opinions, please share your experience with them!
Thanks.

New design?

I bought one about a year ago. Made too much damn noise so I removed it.

I REALLY (and I do mean really), liked the way it worked but I simply couldn't abide the noise.

I REALLY (and I do mean really), liked the way it worked but I simply couldn't abide the noise. I remember the first design was using toothed belt - the unit was then redesigned to use different belt.

How noisy was it ? Lauder than an average skimmer ? What part of the unit was making the noise ? Motor/belt ? Or just water splashing ?

The main problem for it was the fact that if you didn't have the belt tight (and I mean REALLY TIGHT) the belt was absurdly loud. Once that problem was solved, life seemed to be good.

Until I noticed how loud the CLUNK was when the piston hit the top and bottom of the shaft.
