Hi guys
About to place an order. I want two, do I have to obtain a mated pair, or can I just add two indivs. hoping they get on?
I would like to get smaller indivs. but this will prob. be more difficult to obtain as a mated pair. Also if I need a mated pair it'll cost a quite a bit more.
Any advice appreciated.

I don't think many people around here keep Butterflies. At least, from my posts and researching, that's what I get. There are a few people that has knowledge of them though, so hopefully, they'll chime in.
What size tank are you putting them in? In Angelfishes and Butterflyfishes, Scott Michael lists a 135g as a minimum for adults, but I don't know if that's for 1 or 2.
Please report back once you get them because I, too, am interested in them. Good luck!

i read on wetwebmedia or somewhere that they should be from the same school. i have never seen mated pairs sold before, that would cost a bundle.

Mel, we've since ordered them, our lfs has lots of butterfly experience, just couldn't get hold of them before now. The tank is 6ft (200gals) - apparently its OK to add 2 unrelated specimens as long as the tank is a fair size. I think Scott Michael hints at this reading between the lines.
Tell us about it clekchau, we've also ordered a mated pair of Red Sea Regal angels - kerching............
