I am confused with question #33.

33. Suppose that the water in a reef aquarium has a nitrate concentration of 50 ppm and a new batch of artificial seawater at the same temperature has no nitrate in it. If 10% of the water in the aquarium is replaced by the new water, the final alkalinity in the aquarium will be closest to which of the following values?

I chose "D. Not enough information is provided to properly answer" Because how can you know the ending alkalinity when the question is about nitrate?

Anyway, D was incorrect :D

Thanks. Q33 is as typo and should read nitrate, not alkalinity. It is being corrected.

Add 2% to your score. :)

I want to try and retake the test when I'm awake before I go through and read the reasonings etc. How do I get it to let me take it again? Delete cookies? When RC puts one back on as I log in will it put that part back on where it takes me to the answers again?

I suspect delete cookies will work, yes. If that works, let us know. :)

Howdy neighbor, just got a 37% on your test. Do you think its feasible I could learn or understand this better by reading this forum more often ? By the way lived on Mass. Ave. in Arlington next to Wanamakers for 5 years, small world.

Started the Test, head started throbbing after 20 minutes had to put it down. This is not like the last one I did, it's much harder, I have to try this one early in the morning before work.

Thanks alot Randy. I woke up this morning in a cold sweat because I had a nightmare I was not going to graduate high school because I failed the Reef Chemistry Test. I don't need a shot to the ticker like that! I graduated over 20 year ago!

Seriously, thanks for the time you put in on this test and for all of the awesome technical information you provide. I know you have made me a better reefer.

I had a nightmare I was not going to graduate high school because I failed the Reef Chemistry Test.

That's hilarious.

I have a recurring nightmare that I cannot graduate from college because I forgot to take an English class (I never took one). :D

Well, I suprised myself. I answered more correctly than I thought I would. I made a 50% in about 45 minutes, closed book. Very educational. Lots of good info in the answers and I felt like they all had good explanations and/or links to further explain. I am going to read-up some more and then try it again in a few weeks. Thanks again Randy! You definitely keep us on our toes!
