hermit crab

I have 2 hermit crabs the LFS called zebra crabs and told me they were reef safe. They are really growing and they have a large claw on one side. I have noticed lately a lot of empty snail shells in the tank.. Do all hermits ( I have red legged and blue legged) eat snails. Oh yeah I also have a tiny emeral crab but I haven't seen him after the snails like the hermit crabs.

The blue ones do I know, your best bet is to stick with scarlet reef hermits if you keep having problems, they are the most peaceful of the bunch
