Which camera? It's possible Photoshop's RAW processor doesn't recognize your camera's RAW format. I'm pretty sure this is currently still the case with Nikon. I'm also sure they must be working on it.

Interesting. That should work. What happens when you simply double click your .CR2 file by itself?

You can download the latest Adobe Raw file here. (http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html)

When I click on the pic I want to open it says could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document.

Try downloading and installing the latest raw software via the link I posted. If that doesn't fix the problem you may want to re-install Photoshop or look for help on the Adobe site.

Gregr I downloaded that raw file but its still not working. It gives me the same message when I try to open the pic.

That is a bummer. I am running into the same problem- I just had to get a new camera (all my equipment was stolen :( ) and the new camera raw files are getting that same message. I am just now about to open PS after re-installation. I'll let you know how it goes.

It worked for me. It's a hassle but it worked.
Have you installed any software recently? It's possible another program changed the file handling preferences.

Give Adobe a call.

What happens if you right click and specifically choose to open it with PS?

Yeah, I was insured thankfully.
After the re-install things are working properly on my computer. I wasn't trying to open files directly from the card though. I recommend you don't work off the card like that- the best thing to do is tranfer the entire contents of the card to your computer, then format the card in-camera. Then, back on the computer, copy the pictures into another folder to work from- that way you always have the originals untouched.

Tried working from a folder and still no luck. It shows the same message.
