View Full Version : calk 480, alk 8 dkh, trite/trate nondetect, ph 8 how to fix calk?

my calk is a little high what do i do to fix it.. i did a WC and added the randy's 2 part and went a little over with the calk part.. ( dont have a exact way to measure, only have cups/spoons for baking )

You should be able to let it drop on its own. Just supplement alkalinity only until the calcium level is better.

i skimmed that article and dint see my exact problem of high calk w/all other perm in order.....
how long do you think it would take before the calk get on track?? i only thing in my tank that use the calk is coraline and 1 lps..

That's hard to guess. The Ca isn't high enough to do any damage, in my opinion, so I wouldn't worry.

I wouldn't worry either. There is no problem with 480 ppm.

Think of it as one more think you don't have to add for a while. I did the same exact thing because my calc test was old. The new one was 80 ppm higher.
