Could it be a bacterial infection?
Hopefully, someone with more experience can help you with this growth.
Something that comes on that fast thogh, could as be a tumor (maybe, I am only familiar with tumors in other species though)
If you find out anything else, let me know, I would like to learn from this too. (like the way you treat him. esc..).
Best,
HB

Ive heard of fish having tumors and people doing surgery on them to remove the area. If thats the case Im going to let nature takes its course.

Hi,
sorry, I can't help you more. I am just trying my best.
I would look into Jungle foods, they sell medicated foods. I have a couple in my fish cabinet.
I would also supplement his normal diet with vitamins, zoe, selcon esc.

Hattie, im sorry-I didnt mean it towards you.
Im just frustrated because everytime I have a specific question I get vague response. It used to be nice to be able to ask experts and get a legit response.
Im actually doing what you suggested. I planned on buying the antibiotic tonight on the way home and probably dose the food with beta glucan and vitamin boost. TY for you advice.
