I want to add some Anthias to my reef tank but the consensus is that they require multiple feedings per day to thrive. So, I'm looking for an automatic aquarium feeder that will work in conjunction with an X-10 controller...the AquaController II from Neptune Systems. The idea is that I'll use my ACII to setup a few feedings per day...it'll be easy to program as follows:

1. ACII shuts off main pump
2. ACII powers-on the automatic feeder
3. Upon being powered on, the feeder distributes a "dose" of food
4. ACII powers-off the automatic feeder
5. ACII turns main pump on
6. Repeat steps 1-5 as many times per day as I want

By using the ACII to control the pump and the feeder I avoid adding an unsightly feeding ring and/or having most of the food wash over the overflow at each feeding. But it's step #3 that's the problem...finding a feeder that drops a portion of food when it's powered on.

Does anyone know of a feeder that works like this?

Thanks,
Chris

I've heard good things about this, and it should do the trick. You just need to control a power outlet with the AquaController (either X10 or one of the slots on a DC8, DC4, or DC4HD).

Looks like a possibility....they even reference the AquaController in their product description.

Thanks
