humu fins acting strange

I can't tell if he has ick bc when he sleeps, his fins are in the sand.

But he seems to be shaking his upper body fin. He does this until a kind of substance begins to appear on the fin.

any ideas?

Sounds weird, any more information would be good. Are you talking about his undulating fins (i.e. his clear fins on his back and his anal fin)?

yes, I am refering to his undulating fins, but only his top fin. He also does not do it all the time.
and I am not sure what kind of substance, but it only appears when he shakes that fin.
