i have a 55 now with 90 lbs of LR and cf for lighting. i did have it in my 75 overflow a year ago wich is now a ciclid tank, but i am now getting the urge to move the ciclids to a 55 and eather put the salt water back in the 75. there is one problem. the stand that i built for the 75 can not fit mh lighting. i can not remake hood and repaint it. (i airbrushed bubbles on it )so im thinking to sell the 75 and stand for 400 and buy a new tank and build a new stand. my delemma is what tank would be best. one thing is i would like a 24" front to back bottom. here are my choices; Acrylic Aquariums - fish tanks- sump tanks - 70 wide
48" x 24" x 13" tall $170+shipping;
Acrylic Aquariums - fish tanks- sump tanks - 95 wide 48" x 24" x 17" tall $310 +shipping;
Acrylic Aquariums - fish tanks- sump tanks - 100 wide 72" x 24" x 13" tall $325 +shipping;
or even Acrylic Aquariums - fish tanks- sump tanks - 75 long 72" x 18" x 13" tall $260 +shipping

i want mh but i dont want the electric bill to high thats y i was looking at the 13" high tanks. i was thinking since it was shallow i wouldnt need high power ones maybe a couple of 100w or 175w. those prices are not with overflows. but i will have some put in.

i need some thoughts on my matter

sorry so long:)

Why not just get a All Glass 120 gal, if you really don't want glass I'm sure you could get an acrylic tank with the same dimensions. The other option would be to get T5s for the 75 gallon and keep it. You'll save money on your electric bill over MHs and can keep your existing tank.

Do you have room for a big tank? A 210 would be fun. That is 24" from front to back. 6 ft wide and 29" tall.

I agree, just get a AGA 120g. you could go with 2x 150w MH and supplement with T5's ....

You could just lose the hood for the 75 then go open top with hanging MH pendants.

But if you want a different tank, I would just go with the 120g glass tank as said above.

I would go 120 AGA as well. You can generally get them new for around 400 to 500 bucks.

what about a acryl 125 that is 72x24x17 i just got the quote for the shipping on it and with overflows and it came to $625. i dont think its to bad. i think i just dont know what i want sometimes and it sometimes take me 6 mths. i know that acryl can scrach easer but its lighter and with the size im lookin at its cheeper. plus more sizes are readaly avalible to be sent out. so t5s will be enough for a long tank like that? plus a few of low power mh will just add to it. will the t5s be better than the compacts i have now?
