don't know which would be better for me. they are the same price on finsreef. besides the two pumps/extra power increase, i was wondering what you prefered. i remember reading problems with onlyg getting wet skimmate using the 2XF2001 skimmer....is this still a problem i should worry about? the skimmer will be ran external.

this skimmer will be going on a ~170 gal. total system. light bioload, for now. i like to feed a lot, so it will be getting a workout.

also, can i get the height of the output tube on either or both models? it will be going on an existing display, and want to get an idea of what i'm up for.

and finally, anyone offering free shipping?

thanks for any help, lawrence

I've never owned a 2xF2001, so cannot comment on it. I loved the 1260 when I owned it. Many have said that the Eheim is quieter than the AquaBees. Also, I believe the wet skimming was on the 2x1260, but I could be wrong.

Just a suggestion, because your total system is 170g, you really only need a A150. You really have to have heavy bioload and/or extremely heavy feedings, or planning on upgrade soon to warrant a A200. JMO, maybe others could chime in.

Got your PM, thanks for the compliment. :)

that would be great-it's a bit cheaper!!!! are the aquabees still pretty quiet? the tank is in the tv room, but currently i am running a beckett, powered by a pcx-55. i'm sure any pump would be quieter than that one though. any guess on the height of the output tube on the A150-F2001? and the height is 26"... how much extra clearance is needed to remove the cup? another inch or two? thanks for the help :)

for sure, the aquabee will be quieter than the pcx-55. yes, the aquabee is pretty quiet, the air sucking noise is louder than the pump. 1/2" needed to remove the cup for cleaning. the t-output fitting is 17" from base to mid t, i believe, can't remember exactly.

A single eheim would suffice. If you get a dual eheim get the larger diameter Rx chamber (A250?).
