I am setting up a 90 gallon tank in a few months, but I am not sure on what to light it with.
I have a 48" PC hood, 260W Current USA....I'm sure this isn't enough to grow SPS, or maybe even sofites.
I have been reading a lot about T5s versus MHs....I like the look of MHs, but don't really want the electrical bill, or the hot ballast (I have a 7.5 month old son who's crawling around).
I could go with all T5s but I really don't want a hood on my tank, and the T5 fixtures are expensive, but run cooler, and have longer bulb lives.
Another idea I had, was to add another 65x2 PC hood to my existing setup, or even a 65x4, matching what I have.
So I'm open to suggestions......I haven't dealt much with metal halides, so I'm a little apprehensive about them, but more than willing to learn!
