I just want to send a heartfelt thank you to all of the peppermint shrimp out there. I bought two the other day and my tank is now aptasia free! I no longer feel like a lemon juice pusher digging around my tank with a syringe filled with lemon juice trying to give a well embedded aptasia a lethal hit of citric acid. Hooray!

So,
Those guys worked for you??? I'm impressed that only 2 powered all those aptasia down. I think I'll have to recruit a few for my tank as well. I'm a Joe's Juice pusher in my tank LOL!!!

I'm thinking of trying a couple myself...I've tried Joe's Juice on a couple of my Aiptasia three times now, it'll take care of them for about 3 weeks and then I'll see their ugly little heads reappear.

That's great! Do you have a before/after pic of the tank?

They seemed to be gaining ground in my tank as well. 2 peps and a week or so later no more aptasia. Just remember to give the little guys something xtra at feeding time.

I am a fan of copperband butterflies. Peppermint shrimp never really worked for me.

My Peppermint's owned every sighting of aptasia in my tank too...beautiful to watch them house the hell outta those guys...

That is a great relief, I just saw my first aiptasia showing it's ugly head in the nano cube. gonna pick up a shrimp tommorow to hopefully eradicate the problem. I actually know a guy who quit saltwater and went strictly freshwater because of aiptasia. when he gave his live rock to an lfs, I saw a more than a couple hundred aiptasia polyps on the rocks he gave to be treated.

Does anyone know what to do when the problem reaches "out of control" proportions?

within a week my peppermint ate at least 3 of them, about 1/3" each

Anybody know if it would be safe to add them with my Wrasse?

how about manjos? I have too many. I recently added 6 fairly good size peps in my 180. I am told they eat these as well. I guess time will tell. I never see them out however. I guess they do their work at night

I had about six manjos and 10 - 12 aptasia.. Two were rather big. May they RIP. Also, I have a six lined wrasse and I have no problem with the fish bothering them.

Give them a few days to acclimate the new tank
