I have a 24g Nano Cube, and I have been having problems keep the temp down. Most of the time it stays between 80 to 82... But there are times that i gets up to 83. I beleive that this is a issue because of the closed hood design and the lights not having sufficient ventilation.

I was wondering if I turned them on for 5 hours, then off for 4, then back on for 5 if that would have any adverse effect?

I want to try to stay away from a chiller(those get exspensive), and I have not had a chance to add a fan accross the top of the water yet(and I know that causes alot of evaporation).

Thanks for your help in advance! Love this place!

i have a nano 24 but because of living in the uk i've got a heater in mine! try propping the hood open about 2 or so inches.
