Hi I just sold my EuroReef RC500 to a fellow RC member and he says the the Sedra 5000's are leaking at the connection that has the o-ring. Has anyone heard of this and how to fix it?

I just cleaned them the day before and they were working fine do you think the vinger did something???

Thanks for any help,
Brian

Two possibilities come to mind:

1. The retention tabs broke when the housing was replaced, removed, adjusted or put back on

or-

2. Time for a dab of petroleum jelly around the o-ring

I looked at Euro Reef's website and I wish they had pics to show some of these parts. ;)

Those pics are what I was talking about in #1:) If you don't get the NW and shaft aligned right when you try to put it back together, it can stress the tabs on the NW housing and it can crack (get the idea I'm speaking from experience yet:lol: ).

When those tabs crack, they can't hold the housing/o-ring in place:)

Do the rubber stoppers at the end of the shaft also need grease?
