I am getting ready to put a sump /refugium in my system and I am not sure what return pump to go with. My overflow box is rated @ 300 gph (cpr cs 50) so if I have two return lines into the tank and the pump is going to have to pump up the water about 3.5 feet to the tank what gph return pump should I go with ?
Thanks,
Danny

Look at the home page for rc. There is a head loss calculator on the left side about half way down. Obviously you'll have to be under 300gph becasue of your overflow. There is a list of pumps you can slect from that will help in you decision making.

I would try something like this for your set up. Place a ball valve on the return pipe before it spits to the 2 pipe going back up just incase this pump has to much flow.

I found it here at this link: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/Prod_Display.cfm?pcatid=4590&N=2004+113041

Youre going to be looking for a flow between 110gph-275gph. 2-5 times the display volume. I have used rio pumps for a while with no problems. Rio 1100 would be 236gph.

check out a mag 5 or 7 and just use a ball valve to throttle it back.
