Would this work for a 125g reef tank? If not, what could i keep with it. 8x54watt HO t5 bulbs. http://cgi.ebay.com/T5-TEK-LIGHT-Fluorescent-Aquarium-Fixture-48-x-8_W0QQitemZ7767266209QQihZ018QQcategoryZ46314QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem

Yes. But what are the dimensions of your tank? If it is 5ft, there are new 60” fixtures.
BTW- I have a 120g, 4’x2’x2’ with a 6 bulb Tek and it is more than enough.

I would like to get a 72" light fixture that would work with a stand so i didn't have to fasten it to the ceiling, but there too expensive....according to wifey!

Aquatinics makes a 72" T5HO fixture: http://www.aquactinics.com/Products/72_T5_HO_Systems.htm

You may want to contact Aquatinics regarding web retailers. Better yet, post a query on the Aquatinics forum here at Reef Central.
