My two RBTAs are missing for about 3 weeks, when they suddenly started to move around after being in the same spot for more than 1/2 a year. How long has your RBTA been in the rockwork looking for a new xspot w/o being seen? Is it still possible to see them show up one day? They have been very healthy and literally disappeared over night.

I don't know if 3 weeks is a long time or not, I'm new to btas.
I assume you've checked intakes and places they could get sucked into.
Have you tested your water recently? This might not do a whole lot, but if you don't have amonia spikes and such, they're probably not breaking down.
I've read they go into hiding when they split, but again, I don't know how long this takes.
I'm sorry I can't be more helpful, but I hope you have some ideas you didn't before.
Good luck!
