A 200 1260 Skimmer flow

Hello...my first H&S product and another forum ventured! Ha Ha! I am wondering what flow (roughly) I should be bringing into my skimmer...similar products recomend 1 1/2 times the volume of water your system carries...I have a 180G with about 60 gallons in the sump & refugium....this would mean a 400gph should be fine...I am hoping to get input from actual H&S users though. Thanks for your time and input

I would not feed the skimmer any faster than the rating for that skimmer, which is 300gph. Somewhere between 250-300gph would be great. Rule of thumb is 1x-1.5x your display tank feeding the skimming, but not more than the skimmer's capacity rating.

Thanks for the reply...I saw the info you had posted on your thread after. I should have scrolled down first! Your thread has been very informative and interesting...I am going to use am EHEIM 300gph pump on mine since my return is not an option on my setup. I will post pics on your thread when its complete!
