Ok finally back to the saltwater hobby.

Been to the LFS a few times this week checking out a few things.

Today I got a quote on a few bits and pieces to start myself off, keep in mind all these prices are in AUD and we dont get as big of a rang or as cheap as you guys get it all.

----------------------------------

Display tank, 14" wide, 9" back, 10" high.

$20 for the tank, 2x holes cut in back for $25 each (expensive I know but I would rather just get them to do it to save me stuffing it up)

Sump/Fuge, 16" wide, 10" back, 11" high.

$25 for the tank, 3 baffles for an extra $50, also expensive but meh.

----------------------------------

50watt Jebo Heater, $25

800-900Litres per hour pump, $27

Digital thermometer, $15

Salinity thingy, $30

----------------------------------

So my total so far comes to 242AUD which works out to be I think about, 190USD

You cannot buy lights over here anywhere that are decent for a tank this small so I am looking at something like this:

http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=ES53124

Problem is the shipping to get this over here is more than the light itself... if I could find anyone on the forum to send it over for me or even an australian online store that somebody knows of I would be extremely grateful!!

Anyway, thanks for any help. Going to buy this stuff probably tomorrow.

Ok, ordered those lights last night from someone on ebay.

Ended up costing me $110 AUD in total including shipping.

Today I went to the LFS and picked up a few bits and pieces!!

50watt Jebo heater, $25.90

2KG of red sea salt, $26.90

Boyu Digital Thermometer, $14.95

Pro Aqua Salinity Hydrometer, $29.95

2x Tanks, $50 for the pair.

3 Baffles fitted, $30

I ended up going with a larger tank in the end, both tanks are exactly the same size.

16" x 10" x 11"

They both have a weird plastic base (I will be thoroughly leak testing) so I am just going to drill the base on my display and build an over flow for the centre out of acrylic.

My display water volume will be about 8 gallons, and my sump will be slighly less as it will not be filled to the top, so its going to come to a total of 14-15gallons!!

I have no plans for fish at the moment but plenty of corals are going in it, not sure if I can keep sps in a tank with these lights??

Will post some pictures of what I have later tonight, also starting my stand construction later tonight.
