According to this link:
http://www.marlin.ac.uk/demo/adult_gen_Octvul.htm
my vulgaris can get to be about 1.3 meters (4.25 feet).

First question:
will he get this big in captivity?

Second ques:
will a 200gal tank (48L x32w x30h) be big enough (plus 100gal sump)

Third ques:
what flow-rate(gph) would you recommend on a 200gal Oct. tank

Thanks Jimmy

A 200 should be fine. The vulgris will grow to be good size but maybe not as big as in the wild.
On a 200, I would recommend a flow rate that changes the water in the tank around 8 times a hour. A 100 gallen sump will be great. The 180 I have been gathering stuff for is going to use a 75 gallen tank for a sump. I will also have a aquaC ev400 skimmer and duel bulk head overflows.

Sure, once I get it all set-up I'll post some pics. The new set-up is still in the design phase right now. He's still relatively small(8"+)so there's no rush.

Here's a link to the picks I have of him so far.
