I haven't setup my tank yet and before buying my initial bucket of salt I was wondering is there a difference between Red Sea and Kent's? at my LFS the Kent's is almost twice as much.

Some salts have different levels of calcium, alk, and some other elements. I use IO (i see lots of users use this.) Some people just buy anything thats cheap too.

Fan of Instant Ocean (IO) and Reef Crystals, TM Pro Reef is good too. I am never a fan of any Red Sea product, so I would go with Kent if there was no other choice. If you are not keeping any corals what so ever and cheap salt will do for a FOWLR system... but I dont keep a FOWLR and some people use much better salt for them too

Another fan of Instant Ocean here...

What I do is print out the petsmart webpage for the 160gallon bucket, its $31.99 and bring that with you to petsmart, they'll honor the web page price :D

Some Petsmarts do some dont... In any case, I like to support my LFS, not chains... plus they have $9.99 bags of instant ocean. Cant beat that from a LFS!
