i know that both are considered weeds and will grow very quickly. if the two are near eachother, relatively, will one outgrow and dominate the other one? or will they share their space?

My guess would be the xenia would have GSP growing around it... i'm curious as to what would happen too, since mine are right next to each other.

I think if they were competing for the same sq inch of space the xenia would win though, it grows much faster in my tank.

they both have room to grow, i placed my frogspawns where they are so they would keep them to their part of the tank. i was just wondering what will happen down the road when they grow. the red circle shows where the star polyps are growing as hitchhikers on my rock, and you can see and compare to the xenia. thanks!

Oh I didn't realize GSP can sting... maybe that's what's been stinging my Amphiprion percula. It's covered with black spots now -- Poor little guy.

NOt helping with your question, I have both and haven't had a problem. I just wanted to comment on how beautiful the tank is.

I had a similar situation. I surrounded the gsp and xenia with pieces of rock and let them grow over it then I frag the pieces out and swap the frags and trim them back at the same time.
