I've always used ARO's for the price, but I'm wondering if they would run any brighter on an Icecap 440 or 660? I run 2-3' 95w's.

i have some ballast questions also. idont see where anybody has done much good testing

The VHO ballast info ive read did not include ARO. but with VHOs, IC does not seem to make the VHO lamps brighter than Normal magnitic ballast. In fact they claimed it was a good bit less light than a magnitic ballast. But the pros to IC with VHO is more energy efficency (watts to Lux) and longer lamp life.

I am also. (to a point)
from what i understand the IC is a 800 ma ballast, the VHO tar/magnitics are 1500-1600ma. im still trying to learn more on this matter, as of now i dont know of any 1500ma ellectronic ballast. ill see if i can pm the guy who did the testing with par meter.

I'm interested in this too. I run an ARO(AS220) and a IC660 on my 37g reef. Always wonderded if their output was the same or not.
