He's about 8 to 9 inches long now. When I first got my 180, one of my happiest moments, I thought, was I'd be able to keep a Naso Tang. After more and more research, (plenty out there still say my tank is large enough) I don't think it's big enough any more. He's fine, swims around, is fat and healthy, etc. Just wondering if I have another year or two with him before we need to part ways! Saddens me to even type it, I love this fish!
(and no, a bigger tank isn't an option.)
only you would know when its time to get rid of him. I would start now and be picky in the home you send him to. Dont wait till its to late.

Yeah i would start looking now for a good home but im sure you still got a few inches left before it will get too big for your tank.
It is time when you can find a better home. Only you know when that is. "Better" is the key term, not just bigger.
I have a black tang that is getting too big for my 210. I know how you feel.

I know the feeling. When that time comes check out the local zoo as an option. Helps to visit him and see him swimming happily in an enormous tank.
You can check and see if any of the locals know of, or do, any tank maint. They usually have the big tanks that are well taken care of. My basketball sized lion is fat and happy in a tank in a local hospital that can be visited anytime.
