Hello all, I've got a tank ready to cycle now, and i'm trying to decide what all i'm going to keep in it. here is a rough list i've compiled just now. Do you think that these fish would be okay together? The tank is 72" long by 48" wide by 24" tall. It is on a sump that is about 40 gallons. The sump will have a strong skimmer, a refugium full of live sand and macros, and chemical filtration. The tank has great water flow, and about 100 lbs of live rock. Sand bed will be seeded soon.

here's the list.

125 Gallon Tank Stocking List:

- 1 Regal Blue Tang

- 1 Yellow Tang

- 1 Coral Beauty Dwarf Angel

- 1 Flame Dwarf Angel

- 1 Black and White Bannerfish

- 2 Percula Clowns

- 1 BTA

- 1 Neon Goby

- 2 Firefish Gobies

- 1 Purple Pseudochromis

- 10 Blue leg Hermits

- 20 Nassarius Snails

- 1 Tiger-Tail Cucumber

- 2 Sand sifting Stars

- 1 Marble Starfish

- 1 Cleaner Shrimp

- 1 Coral Banded Shrimp

- 10 Turbo Snail

- 10 Margarita Snails

Cheers,

-Tyler

any suggestions? I'd like to know if this fish combination would work. or if it would be too much.

now, i'm adding live rock and live sand to the mix as well as soon as i add water.

Your list looks ok. You might have some trouble with the two tangs, get them small and add at the same time. All the other fish look good. If you only have standard flourescent lights the Anemone wont work so dont waiste the money. Other than that it looks fine.

I'd be careful with the two angel's as well. They should be added at the same time if your going to have both. They will more than likely have a scuffle in the beginning, and hopefully will stop. If not, the strong one will survive. I'd just go with the flame personally.

Um you say it is a 125 gallon tank but with those tank dimensions it looks more like a 280.

I agree, I forgot to mention that. I do think in a 125 they will be fine together. Just add them together.

okay, sounds good on fish then. I'll try to add the (small) tangs and angels together as well.

I just finished the plumbing this evening. It is an external overflow box from the tank, where the line splits, one end going to each end of the sump. I've got the tank water flowing to the refugium on one side, and to the protein skimmer on the other. It then goes to the center where it is heated and pumped back into the tank. :)

Okay, one more question. Water flow... How much is necessary without corals? I've got the sump return line, pushing about 200 gph after the lift is added in. But how much more do i need?

Thanks
