Hi. I just came home to a dead multibanded pipefish and another one up in the corner acting really weird. The tank is a 29 gallon biocube and I just recently (friday) put a 250 watt odyssea metal halide fixture over the tank. The temperature in the tank is at 78F. There don't appear to be any water chemistry problems because my bluestripe pipefish is perfectly normal. The one change in the multibanded's behavior I did recognize was that with the addition of the new metal halide they spent the whole day in the rock work in contrast to them being out all the time with the stock lighting (2x36 watt pc bulbs). My guess is its either uv radiation or the new light just shocked them. But, i have no idea. So, any insight would be appreciated. Also, its only them the rock work, the bluestripe, and a monti cap frag, and there were no agression issues at all. Thanks.
