If I where to get a dogfaced puffer for my 55 gallon tank how long would it be untill I would have to upgrade to a larger tank size? I need to know this because it would help me to know if I wanted to get a puffer instead of Harlequin Tuskfish (It would be by itself though)

How big is the puffer now? A small specimen could be kept for several months but they grow fairly quick.
If you are even thinking about another tank...just go do it :D
Now. They grow fast if you feed them appropriately.

I am asking for an esimate of how long it would take a small dogfaced puffer to outgrow my tank. My parents say that I would have to wait a year or two before I could upgrade my tank to a larger size. So if it would outgrow my tank before the time peroid mentioned what could I do to make it so that it would grow slowly enough that it wouldn't outgrow my tank within the time period stated? or should I just froget it and buy a Tuskfish instead?
Now. A DF would outgrow a 55G by the time that a new tank was planned, purchased, cycled and was ready. It will not wait 2 years unless you barely feed it.

I wouldn't want to barley feed it since IMHO i think that would be cruel to the fish but I still wish there was a way for me to be able to have it... Sigh oh well... :(
