I'm not sure I've really found a good solution, but I've tried BakPak, Remora Pro, and CoraLife skimmers, and I'm sticking with the CoraLife on my 29g. There isn't any object data on skimmer performance.

Prizm along with SeaClone and BackPack skimmers are reported by others to be less than adequate peices of equipment. CoraLife and AquaC Remora IMHO are pretty good, I've had Remora and was happy with it (until I upgraded tank).

I bought a Tunze 9002 less than a week ago for a 20g in my bedroom.

So far I can say it is very quiet -- can't hear it above the fan on my lights, and it mounts inside the tank, so no fear of overflowing. It's a little early to say how well it works, but it's pulling out about 50ml of green, cloudy skimmate a day and I think it's still breaking in.

I like my D&D marine typhoon (drfosters $68) pulls out lots of crud and is built very well.

i used a prizm on my 29 gallon when i first entered the hobby. i think its a decent skimmer for tanks about that size. it is noisy though. a close friend used a cpr bakpak on his 29, and he thought it did a great job. definetely a step up from a prizm.

but aqua c remoras are definetely the best for a small tank, i used the pro model on my 50 and was quite satisfied.

Stay away from the fission nano skimmer for the love of god. Worst $30 i've ever spent.
