I just installed a mod on my 900, followed everything just as it said. Put it in the tanks and it will rattle and buzz then stop the noise for a couple seconds and start again. Does anyone know what I may have done wrong or have a way to stop it?

I just did a mod for my 1200, but it was a DIY, not from mjmods.com! Mine did the same thing, so I had to shave my propeller down a bit, that fixed the problem for me, and make sure the prop is not to far from the top of the shroud! good luck

Also, what is the flat black acrylic T-shaped piece for?

it is a vortex shield. You glue it to the top so it hangs over the front like a visor. when your mod starts running well it can suck a vortex 5-6 inches down from the surface....loud and annoying. The shield will prevent that.
