Flakes, brime, mysis, squid, anything and everything you would feed your fish works for them.

Will he eat on his own or do I have to put food near him?

My shimp scruy out under the rock (they like to hang upside down) when it's feeding time. They basicly swim to where the food is, grab some and go back hiding.

Pellets that sink work great.

I shove a tiny tiny piece of shrimp(the ones we eat) into the end of rigid air tubing. I can put the tip near the shrimp without getting my hands wet......my shrimp goes ballistic trying to get it out

it also loves sinking pellets, but if my aim isnt so good, he doesnt always get them before the pumps come back on
