need to quiet aqua c remora hang on skimmer

hey all,

anyone have a good idea on how to make my hang-on remora skimmer more quite?

it's in my room right now and the constant noise of it is slowly driving my fiancee crazy.

any thoughts/mods?

How long has it been running for. Per the Users Manual it says that the skimmer will run louder then normal for the first week or two.

there are 2 mods that I found work well...

paper towel mod - take a paper towel, fold it into a square, dampen with tank water. Place this square in the compartment on top of the injector underneath the collection cup. replace the paper towel every few weeks.

rubber band mod - take a produce rubber band like the ones usually found on leaf lettuce. Its about 4" long, 1/4" wide. Place the rubber band around the bottom of the collection cup (not the tube, the rectangualr part). Wiggle the collection cup back into place and make sure the black o-ring fits snuggly on top of the skimmer body.

If the skimmer is new or has been dry for a long time, it will take a few days to break in and then it will quiet down.
