Yes, my tank is only 20 x 18 so I didn't want to get too crazy. Also have 800gph from my return.

Do you like it, hows the quality compared to a tunze?

Never had the privilage of holding a tunze, so I really couldn't compare, but the one is very small,( requirement in my small tank), And it is also very quiet. Also comes with magnet mount. 28 bucks at DR F&S. Figured it was worth it.

Ok, well after a few hours I must say I am very impressed with these pumps. I bought a #4 (1200 gph) and a #3. (850). Compare that to my nanostreams 6025 (660 gph). I have all four in my 75.

Comparison between two:
1.) I agree the magnets seem a little weaker, but I prefer it because putting the nanostreams on actually made me nervous.
2.) The strenght of the plastic seems pretty equivalent, with the very end of the Hydor seeming a little weaker.
3.) PUtting my hand in the front of all three, yea, the bigger Hydor make a HUGE difference. Given the price difference between the Tunze 6060 and the #4, I am VERY happy.
4.) The rubber gasket around the magnets makes it much niecer looking in tank and out.
5.) The openings to the impellor are larger and a small fish or shrimp getting in their is in big trouble, but with flow rate I don't expect it to happen.
6.) The biggest challenge is putting the in tank magnet and pump together. I felt I had to apply enough pressure that the red mount part could break. That needs some attention.

Overall, tickled to death with my purchase. Oh yea, did I mention I got the #4, the #3, adn a huge bottle of carbon for $30 less than a Tunze 6060?
The biggest proof is the difference in the bubbletip anemone, , the greater extension on the SPS polyps and the LPS are starting to get use to the flow even.

Here are some photos?

Here is the red part I was describing as being somewhat difficult to insert in pump:

I cleaned off the nano's so debris would be floating so I could see flow patterns in tank (notice the surface agitation). These replaced 2 Maxijet's 1200 and the difference is not even funny. Won't waste money on 1200's again for flow. (crappy picture but not for looks)

The anemone is much larger, bouncing around beautifully and looks way more natural in its movements. It has also extended tentacles way more.

That's great info and pics!!! I am definitely going to get a couple for my 29g...I think I'll go with the #2's w/600gph flow rate.

Does your RBTA move around at all? I have a couple in my softies tank that move occaisionally - and I wouldn't want one to get near the intakes of that hydor, or any other stream type pump with the open slots (anemones that get on the much more closely spaced slots of a maxijet strainer will get shreadded. Don't ask me how I know)

I have a 28 gallon tank with 2 AquaClear 201 Powerheads. They are 125 gph. I am also getting flow from hob protein skimmer. I want to upgrade and was thinking of Maxi-Jet 1200 with a Hydor Flo but after looking here I might get one of these. For my sized tank would you recommend the Koralia Water pump 1 or 2. If I got the 2 could I replace both my powerheads? Would a 2 create a sand storm?

Obi-dad - He does move around some, but not a lick since I added the pumps. I think he is too happy (I wish he would be happy on the live rock!!

BobTheBuilder - I would probalby do two #1's and point them at each other. You shouldn't have a sand storm if you have them a little higher in your tank (but some eddies do form around corals on sand and will move sand).

Please post your results if you buy some of these. It will be interesting to see if they hold up like Tunze's.

Are there any startup issues with these? I want to alternate two of them every minute. Thanks

I dont' have mine on a wavemaker, I think if you have enough angled the right way a wavemaker is a moot point.
