what's a good camera?

all of your pictures are awesome. i have a digital camera but my pictures don't come out at all like the ones on this site. what is an affordable good camera that you guys recommend?

If you don't want to spend too much you could go for a decent compact with alot of manual settings.

maybe $200-$300 if that isn't too far fetched. i think i saw a camera referenced on this forum and saw it used for that much, new it was like $2300
