eastern reefs

Hello. This is my first thread and I recently started a 90 gallon reef. Later I was given a piece of rock with what my friend said was a colt coral. Based on pictures on the web, I think he is correct. The tank is 4 months old with excellent water quality, two 150 HQI 20K lamps, a Super Skimmer from Coralife, a UV rated to 125 gallons, and a reactor with Kent carbon. I use Tropic Marin Pro Reef salt and do water changes weekly. I usually do about 10 gallons per week.

The colt coral is now drooping the last few days but color is still good and occasionally perks up about half way.

Can anyone tell me the best place to ID the coral for sure and how to properly maintain or save it?

My next project is to learn to upload pictures!

Thanks

What is your temp? Has it spiked?

Make sure he's getting enough flow. Leather corals can look really droopy and sad when not getting enough, the flow helps stimulate them to stand erect.
